Before reaching us for more detail of what we are offering and how you qualify for the programme, the following FAQs are developed to help on most frequently asked questions. |
A lot have been asking for a longer term internship, but our answer will always be a "NO".
"You will only learn real business in your full-time role."
Those firms claiming to offer 6-month/1-year internship are relying on interns to save costs, and you are put to handle lots of office admin work or at best liaise between clients (aka dirty work). Few shows business insights to interns only when they believe they will hire you and you won't turn down the offer.
Big Names That Matter. And yes, those star candidates swallowing multiple offers do have big names in their resumes, typically hunting jobs in finance and consulting.
- You Get The Internship. A handful of qualified candidates will be placed in our partner firms in the length of the two weeks as apprentices.
- You Know Which Niche You Are Heading To. You learn finance - Investment Banking, Private Equity/Venture Capital, Hedge Fund, AM (asset management),WM (wealth management) - in the textbook, but you don't really know how to differentiate them or know if you are a good fit.
- You Know The "Language". Finance is a lucrative career path that not only interests you who are studying finance/finance/CFA exam, but also it inspires a lot of those kids taking double-E at MIT to jump into, even in this market. Places are limited.
Tip One - as a bonus to the last point, the first 50 candidates coming to us via reference (industry contacts, EliteExchange alumni, corporates) will secure at least an interview.
Tip Two - so you may try Google to locate a potential alum in your city, or...
- You Got Your Network. In the market we always say when the direction is right, and when you are surrounded by a team of stars like you, you will not get it wrong even if you are now a small start-up with ZERO revenue.
